I was born in Naperville on the 8th of February in 1991 and was raised in Chicago. I have 4 siblings: 2 younger sisters (13 and 18), and 2 brothers (22 and 30). I started wrestling in high school at DeLaSalle Institute on Chicago's Southside which is a catholic all boys school. I made varsity as a sophomore and made it down to the state tournament twice as a junior and senior, winning it in my senior year with an undefeated record of 44-0. I have always competed within the heavyweight division. I got a scholarship to Northern Illinois University which is a Division I school in the MAC conference. I redshirted as a freshman with a record of 19-2 winning the Michigan State Open in 2009. I then transferred to a junior college called Harper Community college for two years, winning nationals as a Redshirt Sophomore in 2012. Later that year, I took my first amateur fight winning in just 13 seconds. I went on to compile an 8-0 amatuer record and then turning pro in the May of 2014 going 5-0 with a win in the RFA promotion. I signed with the UFC in the March of 2016 and debuted in the UFC shortly after in April. I moved from Chicago to Denver mainly because I wanted to join a major gym with legit coaches and sparring partners. I've found that here at MusclePharm with Team Elevation hosting some of the biggest names in MMA.
